Red half-percaline flap portfolios (550 x 400 mm) with corners, printed front cover, containing 2 text pages and 20 plates; slight tear and tarnish to title, small paper defects to verso of introductory leaf, very slight on plate 1, plate 4 a little dull, very good overall condition (publisher’s binding).
A rare first and only edition of this superb album of decorative art by German painter Arnold Lyongrün (1871-1935).
It contains 20 chromolithographed plates in Jugendstil colors, some of them japonisantes.
Arnold Lyongrün studied at the Académie Julian in Paris, where he was taught by Jules Joseph Lefebvre and Tony Robert-Fleury.
