Superb humorous calligraphic placard mocking Dom Denis Cambier (died 1780), provost of the abbey of Saint-Martin de Tournai.
It consists of a central letter, the text of which is divided into two columns: the left-hand column gives a laudatory text, the two columns together give a vitriolic portrait. The document is richly decorated with painted rocaille cartouches, featuring the dom's coat of arms and probably his cipher. The whole is complemented by equally humorous interlacing text.
