[ART NOUVEAU DRAWING] [CHILDREN]

Collection of 129 drawings on postcards by Berthe Larue, from a family of bookbinders.

[Autun, 1904-1916]

In-4 (280 x 190 mm), half-calf, spine decorated with morocco patches; a tear at the head of the volume; some cards have been removed from the volume [Larue-Duverne].

A charming collection of drawings by Berthe Larue, a young woman from the Larue-Duverne bookbinder family in Autun. The drawings are executed in watercolor, ink, gouache, or colored pencils, sometimes with gilt highlights.
Beautiful art nouveau aesthetic and related to childhood, with some drawings using bookbinder techniques: fern prints obtained by projecting ink droplets (a technique used for decorating binding edges), and some decorative elements with gilding iron, letters or fleurons. Two cards are decorated with photomontages.
