[BINDING DECORATED WITH EMBOSSED LEATHER].
Album E. Arnaud. Paroles de M.M. Emile Barateau, Eugène de Lonlay, Marc Constantin & Francis Tourte.
Paris, Au Menestrel, J. Messonnier Fils ; Mayence, B. Schott et Fils, [circa 1850].
Large in-4 (310 x 245 mm), first plate decorated with an embossed leather plate, second plate decorated with a leather plate with foliate decoration, smooth spine, gilt edges; binding rubbed, last double sheet of sheet music flown in from another copy (Dulud & Cie, Paris).

A charming collection of twelve scores dedicated to King Leopold I of Belgium.
It is illustrated with a lithographed title and 12 lithographs after Félix Grenier serving as frontispieces to each score.
Beautiful binding with Renaissance-inspired decoration by sculptor Alexandre Schoenewerk (1820-1885).
A similar binding was part of the collection of Léon and Paul Gruel (Livres provenant de la collection Léon et Paul Gruel, Paris, Librairie Giraud-Badin, [1997], no. 25).

[EMBOSSED LEATHER WITH LEATHER FRAME].
This piece of embossed leather is the same as the one adorning the previously described binding, with Renaissance decoration by Alexandre Schoenewerk. It is surrounded by an ornate leather frame (later re-tinted in black), and a second porticoed wooden frame.

This is a fine set from Jacques-Michel Dulud's production of embossed leathers.
