Large folio (430 x 350 mm), half black cloth, first cover decorated with a collage of letters “Livre d’images Maurice Cannissié”; boards rubbed and missing, spine formerly stitched, binding loose (Binding by an amateur of the period).

Important collection of popular imagery carefully composed by a child, containing 68 color Epinal images (full-page, 54 tales and stories, 14 songs). Printed by Pellerin, Pellerin et Cie, Pinot et Sagaire or Olivier-Pinot in Épinal, but also by Gangel or Gangel et Didion in Metz (6) and Haguenthal in Pont-à-Mousson (1).
There are also 43 black-and-white childhood engravings (mostly mid-page) by Adrien Marie, Fromen and Gustave Doré.
The volume also contains 6 large lithographed figures enhanced in color.
