Large folio (550 x 365 mm), containing 14 drawings (295 x 85 mm), black half-chagrin with corners set with gilt fillet, A.R. numeral surmounted by a baron’s crown, white moire lining and endpapers (Period binding).
Superb collection of 14 drawings in gouache, colored pencil or wash, probably executed to decorate the walls of a baronial residence.
They depict oriental scenes in the taste of the 18th century, with animals in the foreground: herons, dogs, exotic birds, a horse and a monkey.
