Set of two illustrated manuscript volumes on bookbinding and its history, and a volume of drawings by bookbinder Claude Larue Duverne, known as Larue Duverne fils.

History of Bookbinding collected by Larue Duverne fils, bookbinder-gilder in Autun. 1890. 14 ff.
Charming calligraphic manuscript adorned with lettering, cul-de-lampe and fleurons, tracing the history of bookbinding from antiquity to the editor's contemporary bookbinders: Chambolle-Duru, Lortic, Cuzin and Marius-Michel.

L'Art de la Reliure, collected by Larue Duverne fils, bookbinder-gilder in Autun. 1892. 46 ff.
The first part is an article, printed on three pages then continued in manuscript, offering a history of bookbinding and then of books and printing, from the “9th-century Anglo-Saxon psalter from the Slow collection” to Pierre Didot's stereotype (dated May 10, 1891).
The second part, entirely calligraphic, concerns the Atelier de Reliure in the 17th century, with two iconographic plates.
The third part, entirely calligraphed, is a handwritten article La Reliure, offering another second history of bookbinding, from Saint Jerome to the binding machines of Engel, Lenègre and Magnier (dated August 3, 1890).
The fourth part, entirely calligraphic, describes the Diptych of the Sens Library. Illustrated with 78 reproductions of bindings cut from sales or booksellers' catalogs (17 full-page and 51 small format), 6 original drawings of decorated bindings signed by Claude Larue (including a rubbing of a binding plate from 1592), and two iconographic plates.

Album containing 54 drawings, mainly in charcoal, including 23 landscapes, views or monuments (Metz, Verdun, Boulay, Montigny, Dieding, Lyon), 17 animals (donkeys, horses, dogs, cows, wild animals), 3 still lifes, 4 soldiers (three in pen and two in color), one flower and 6 architectural ornaments.
