[TEACHING IN NEVERS] PÈRE DELAGRAVE

Institutiones oratoria seu Rhetorica variarum variis adornata figurarum exemplis Reverendissimi Reverend patre A. N. Delagrave S.J. profesore.

Nevers, between December 1742 and July 1743, copy dated 1747.

In-12 (170 x 130 mm), (1) f., 350 pp., (6) ff. in marbled basane, spine decorated, red edges; binding rubbed, corners dulled, missing headpieces (Period binding).

Interesting rhetoric course given by the Jesuit Reverend Father Delagrave (or de Lagrave?) between December 1742 and July 1743 in Nevers.
The manuscript is divided into five books and contains a final index. It is illustrated with a few small drawings.
Dated Nevers 1747, it is probably in the hand of Maillot, avocat général, whose manuscript bookplate appears on the title.

The volume also bears a 19th-century bookplate, Paulus Lemoine Presbyter, which appears to have been lithographed in Nevers, and 20th-century ex-dono on a flyleaf.
